RESEARCH, INNOVATION, TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

VEHICLE

develops tailored solutions for energy storage systems in electric vehicles:

  • Hybridization of lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors will optimize energy storage in terms of specific power and energy density

  • Intelligent energy management strategies based on artificial intelligence and real life testing will improve the lifetime of batteries.

  • The use of an advanced synchronous reluctance machine (SynRM) without permanent magnets and high power density reduces the total cost of ownership.

ABOUT

  • VEHICLE project in a few words.

  • Funding and investment objective.

PROJECT

  • The objectives of the project responding to the identified issue.

  • Project identification, project duration.

PARTNERS

  • The project partners: institutions of research and higher education, regional authorities, industrial partners

  • Cofinancing and associated partners.

ABOUT

The VEHICLE research project will rely mainly on the accumulated experience and complementarity of the three main academic partners in the Upper Rhine region.

The development of an intelligent energy management system (EMS) for the hybrid source will be supported by INSA.

Hochschule Karlsruhe will develop a holistic model with energy management for the HESS in order to be able to decide on the life of the batteries.

Hochschule Trier will validate and perfect the holistic model developed for Li-ion batteries, including cycling, aging and in situ analysis.

The complementary skills of the different project partners in these areas will generate synergies and benefit scientific research.
